Škoda Auto has a long association with motor sport. At the beginning of the year, the competition car is derived Mladá Boleslav in the rally racing circuit and the world. Skoda Auto presented the new Fabia vRS hatch and estate at the Geneva Motor Show, where it will join the sports-tuned Octavia vRS. Both Fabia vRS versions are indeed impressive: for the first time ever, Skoda Auto is using a double-supercharged, four-cylinder petrol engine providing 180bhp, in an engine of just 1.4 litres.
A sophisticated compressor-and-turbo combination increases the engine power smoothly and harmonically, and the maximum speed of 140 mph (141 mph in the estate version) and 0-62mph acceleration in just 7.3 seconds in both versions mean a sporty driving experience. With fuel consumption of 44.1 mpg, the Fabia vRS offers high power and maximum fuel efficiency as well as excellent environmental parameters.

Skoda has been awarded the top spot at the 2010 Which awards winning the prestigious title of ‘Best Car Manufacturer’.
Skoda’s trumped the competition, beating even premium brands to be crowned Best Car Manufacturer.
The accolade was given to Skoda as an acknowledgement of the quality of its products, the great value for money and high standard of customer care that the brand offers. The Which car test team and Which members have all been impressed with Skoda’s reliability, customer care and the quality of its dealerships.
Skoda Auto Russia announced it has begun full-cycle production of the new Skoda Fabia at the Russian launch of the car on 28th April 2010 at its Kaluga factory. The Skoda Fabia has become the second model in the Skoda range to be produced in full-cycle at the factory, which includes welding, painting and assembly. The previous Skoda Fabia model was built at Kaluga factory by SKD. The first model to change to a CKD-production was the Skoda Octavia.
Skoda added an impressive two more trophies to its already bulging awards cabinet this month, as the manufacturer won twice at the Fleet News awards 2010.
The brand was named the Most Improved Fleet Manufacturer and the Skoda Superb model won the accolade of Best Upper-Medium car, at a glitzy awards ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on the 16th March 2010.
